In 1984, Jim Durden started his career with the Florida Highway Patrol. He has investigated hundreds, if not, thousands of traffic crashes over his career. He was one of the first instructors for the patrol on the new computerized reporting of crashes and crash diagrams. He retired in 2011, as a Lieutenant in Special Operations. He then began Coastal Crash Consultants and continued his education on traffic crashes at the Institute of Police Technology (IPTM). Finally becoming accredited through ACTAR as an Accredited Traffic Accident Reconstructionist.
With a long career in traffic safety, Jim has developed vast knowledge of traffic crash investigation and reconstruction. While with the Highway Patrol he developed a computer program to track traffic crashes, obtaining information such as location, time of day, cause of crash and other pertinent information. Utilizing this information the Patrol was able to target areas for enhanced patrols and realign manpower to better deal with high volume areas. After retirement he continued his education which includes new technology such as EDR (Blackbox) Downloads, Drone Photography and 3D Animation.
We are a full service reconstruction firm. We are available to respond to incidents as they occur. Commercial Motor Vehicle cases demand swift response to insure capturing all relevant information.
